A family of high performance textiles that are comprised of high purity, high strength amorphous silica fibers, SILTEX® Silica Textiles are designed for use where severe temperature conditions exist.  The amorphous silica fibers that make up all SILTEX® products are unaffected by most chemicals except strong alkalis, hydrofluoric acid or sodium.  Available in a variety of configurations, including cloth, rope, tape and sleeving, SILTEX® Silica Textiles can be used in a wide array of applications including:


• Welding/Cutting Protection

• Heat and Flame Shielding

• Molten Metal Splash Protection

• Stress Relief
• Insulation

SILTEX® Woven Fabrics
The unique properties of these 96% amorphous silica fabrics make them well suited for protection of personnel and equipment against moderate welding splatter, sparks, grinding of metals, etc.  They are also excellent for use in engineered thermal insulation systems such as turbine, exhaust silencer and steam valve covers.
