SILTEX® WOVEN SILICA FABRICS
AND TEXTILES

Mid-Mountain Materials, Inc. offers a wide varitey of silica products for use in applications where personnel protection and safety are a concern.  With continuous operating temperatures of 1800° F • 982° C, SILTEX® Silica Fabric, Yarn and Cordage, and Textiles is the preferred choice for the most demanding applications.

 

SILTEX® Woven Silica Fabrics
Comprised of high purity, high strength 96% amorphous silica fibers, SILTEX® Woven Silica Fabrics are well suited for use as welding blankets and curtains for protection of personnel and equipment against moderate welding splatter, sparks, grinding of metals, etc.  They are also excellent for use in engineered thermal insulation systems such as turbine, exhaust silencer and steam valve covers.

SILTEX® Silica Yarn and Cordage
With excellent resistance to thermal shock as well as high dielectric strength, SILTEX® Silica Yarn and Cordage offers superior protection in electrical applications, and is available in a wide variety of diameters for your application.
 

SILTEX® Silica Rope, Sleeving and Tape
A family of high performance textile products manufactured from high purity, high strength 96% amorphous silica fibers.  SILTEX® Silica Rope, Sleeving and Tape are available in a variety of sizes to meet the demands of your application.
 

SILTEX® Woven Silica Fabrics and Textiles are designed for use where severe high temperature conditions exist, and meet MIL-I-24244 and MIL-C-24576(SH). The amorphous silica fibers that make up all SILTEX®
products are unaffected by most chemicals except strong alkalis, hydrofluoric acid or sodium, and are excellent for use in the following applications: 

• Welding/Cutting Protection

• Heat and Flame Shielding

• Molten Metal Splash Protection

• Stress Relief
• Insulation

• Hose and Cable Protection

• Gasketing

• Tadpole Tapes
